Ceramic brake pads

Ceramic brake pads are a type of brake pads, including mineral fibers, aramid fibers, and ceramic fibers (because steel fibers can rust and generate noise and dust, so they cannot meet the requirements of ceramic-based formulas), they are lighter than other brake pads. And it's more expensive, ceramic-type brake pads are cleaner and quieter, and they provide superior braking performance without wearing out mating parts.
Many consumers mistakenly believe that ceramics are made at first. In fact, ceramic brake pads are based on the principle of cermet instead of non-metal ceramic. When the brake pad is braked at high speed and vigorously, high temperature is generated on the friction surface. According to measurements, it can reach 800. ~ 900 degrees, some even higher. At this high temperature, a cermet-like sintering reaction will occur on the surface of the brake pads, so that the brake pads have good stability at this temperature. Traditional brake pads do not produce sintering reaction at this temperature. Because the surface temperature rises sharply, the surface material will melt or even produce air cushions, which may cause the braking performance to decrease sharply or the brakes to be completely lost after continuous braking.
